Estonia Likely to Invest in IT Sector in Azerbaijan

01. aprill 2008  Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 April / corr TrendCapital S.Agayeva / Estonia is quite interested in the application of its experience in Azerbaijan essentially in the sphere of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Khrisina Ojuland, the Estonian Vice Speaker said in talks with the journalists on 1 April.

Estonia occupies one of the top places in Europe for ICT and can offer Azerbaijan its experience in this sphere, she said.

“We can invest both in the state and private projects,” Ojuland said.

Ojuland discussed the prospects of cooperation in a meeting at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. It is sought for the establishment of an electronic school in Azerbaijan and for the development of software for medical institution. In the near future, it is planned to hold a meeting of experts of the Ministries of Information Technology of the two countries for more detailed discussion of the possible cooperation, Ojuland said.
