Azerbaijani Minister Of Foreign Affairs visits Estonia

Elmar Mammadyarov, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, as part of his visit to Estonia met Friday with the country's Premier Andrus Ansip.

The meeting focused on economic, energy, regional and international issues.

The Minister informed the Estonian Premier about Armenia's aggressive policy against Azerbaijan as a result of which 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories were occupied and over one million people became internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Mr. Andrus Ansip stressed Estonia considers Azerbaijan as a close partner.
The sides also stressed the necessity of expanding relations in business, culture and tourism spheres.
The same day, Mr. Mammadyarov met with Estonia's Foreign Minister Urmas Paet.

The Estonian Minister noted, in the meeting, that the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh must be resolved within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

He also notified Estonia's honorary consulate will be opened in Azerbaijan soon.

The meeting also discussed Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union and NATO.

During the visit, E. Mammadyarov also met with members of Azerbaijani Diaspora and Vice-Speaker of Estonia's Parliament Kristiina Ojuland.
