Estonia's leading telematics company Oskando has signed a partnership agreement with GPS Bulgaria, a subsidiary of Bulgaria’s largest mobile carrier MobilTel EAD. G
PS Bulgaria will use the technical equipment provided by Oskando to offer vehicle-positioning services first in Bulgaria and later in several other Central and Eastern European countries.
A long-term framework agreement was signed between Oskando and GPS Bulgaria (GPSB), which establishes the terms for GPSB’s regular purchases from Oskando of GSM/GPS car controllers – devices that link positioning technology with public mobile phone services.
Oskando’s devices give a vehicle’s owner the opportunity to keep track of its vehicle’s location, fuel consumption and other important parameters from a remote distance. The users of the service are corporate clients, above all, transport, insurance and other service providers.
GPS Bulgaria has today more than 7,000 clients in Bulgaria subscribed to its vehicle tracking service. Based on this successful experience, GPSB’s long-term goal is to expand the service with Oskando’s equipment beyond Bulgaria, to the markets of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.

The investment group Ambient Sound Investments- established by the four founding engineers of Skype- has invested in six technology companies since March 2006. Investment portfolio includes the following companies: semiconductor developer Clifton- remote tracking device producer Oskando- radio communications technology developer Modesat Communications- telemetry company Connecty- time stamping technology developer GuardTime and electronics manufacturer Evikon MCI.
