Vice-Speaker of Estonian Parliament: “We abstained in the vote in the UN, because our country followed the position of the European Union”

01. aprill 2008 “Estonia abstained in the vote in the UN General Assembly on the draft resolution on the situation in the occupied Azerbaijani territories, because our country followed the position of the European Union,” Vice-Speaker of Estonian Parliament Kristiina Ojuland told the Press Conference in Baku, APA reports. The Vice-Speaker said Estonia had followed the position of the European Union.

“As regards the issue of the territorial integrity, Estonia supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, wants the refugees to return to their native lands and supports peaceful settlement of the conflict. Estonia also supports Azerbaijan’s policy of integration into NATO. If Azerbaijan shows great interest in admission to NATO, Estonia is ready to offer any assistance to your country basing on its experience”, she said.
